Building Project

About the Project:

Curry Public Library (late December 2007)In 1985, the Curry Public Library District board envisioned the need for a new community library and established a building reserve fund for that purpose. Much progress has been made since then including purchase of a 7.44 acre site, site preparation construction engineering plans, and a wetlands mitigation project.

The completed project will showcase a 8,196 sq. ft. state-of-the-art library with a full array of library services including (a) access to a collection of over 50,000 items, (b) access to computers and the internet, (c) wireless connectivity for laptops, (d) interlibrary loan, (e) storytime, (f) summer reading program for children, (g) programs aimed at adults and teens, (h) community outreach, and (i) a well trained helpful and courteous staff.

Funds gathered to date include 655,000 from the Building Fund, 260,000 in Community Donations, 510,000 from Foundation Grants, and 550,000 in a flex-lease loan.  The total amount of these funds gathered is 1,975,000.
